At 2:30 p.m. on September 22, 2022, our school held an opening ceremony of the Home for CPC Party Members and the Home for Faculty Members and a welcoming ceremony for new teachers at meeting room X31309. Zheng Jiang, Chairman of the SWJTU Trade Union, Li Yuhong, Vice Chairman of the SWJTU Trade Union, Su Qian, Director of the Department of Faculty Affairs & Faculty Development of the University CPC Committee, He Jian, Director of the Assets and Resources Department, and Chen Qingshan, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the University CPC Committee, attended the ceremony and gave speeches at invitation. All members of the leadership of the School of Marxism, new teachers, department/section directors, branch secretaries, and members of the Trade Union attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Xiong Yu, Deputy Secretary of the School CPC Party Committee.
At the ceremony, Liao Jun, Party Secretary of the School, gave a welcoming speech. He extended a warm welcome to all leaders who came to our school, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all departments for their long-term care and help to our school. At the same time, he welcomed eight new teachers to join our school as well. Next, six leaders from the University and School unveiled the Home for CPC Party Members and the Home for Faculty Members. Zheng Jiang, Chairman of the SWJTU Trade Union, expressed his warm congratulations on the building of the Home for CPC Party Members and the Home for Faculty Members of our school. He also hoped that the Home for Faculty Members of our school should follow the model of connotation development, become a home of learning, a home of democracy, a home of warmth, a home of harmony, as well as a home of happiness, and actively respond to faculty members’ expectations for a better life. He Jian, Director of the Assets and Resources Department, expressed his congratulations on the completion of the ‘two Homes’ of the School of Marxism, informed attendees of the University’s consideration of giving more support to the construction and development of the School of Marxism in terms of asset allocation, and also expressed the determination to actively improve the environment of the University’s running assets. Additionally, he said that he would continue to increase the support for the School of Marxism.
A welcoming ceremony for new teachers followed. Su Qian, Director of the Department of Faculty Affairs & Faculty Development of the University CPC Committee, and Tian Yongxiu, Executive Dean of our school presented souvenirs to new teachers. As a representative of new teachers, Associate Professor Tang Dengran made a speech, expressing his gratitude and recognition to University, and also showing his confidence and responsibility. Director Su Qian made a speech, putting forward requirements and expectations for new teachers. He hoped that teachers should pay attention to their own ‘trinity’ construction, firmly commit to the original mission and practice, as well as strive to be the unity of ‘scripture teacher’ and ‘human teacher’. The Executive Dean Tian Yongxiu finally made a speech. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to all functional departments for their care and support to the School of Marxism all the time, and warmly welcomed new teachers. She said that the School would certainly provide good services for all faculty members, build a good platform, build and run the Home for CPC Party Members and the Home for Faculty Members well, let teachers work in the college with physical and mental pleasure, and constantly improve their sense of belonging and happiness. She also hoped that new teachers would work hard and contribute their share to the development of the School.
Under the strong support from the SWJTU Trade Union, the Assets and Resources Department, the Organization Department of the University CPC Committee, and other relevant departments, the Home for CPC Party Members and the Home for Faculty Members were officially opened after nearly half a year of careful preparation of project approval, design and construction, as well as allocation of furniture and facilities. The School would further improve relevant facilities, strengthen operation and maintenance management, as well as effectively play a good role in providing Party members and faculty members of the School with a good platform and environment for organizational life, social communication, and rest during work breaks.
