Summer ended with cicadas’ chirping, and autumn came with flying geese. On August 25, Southwest Jiaotong University’s 2022 freshman started to check in. Students from all over the country gathered on campus in early autumn with high expectations, and were about to embark on a new phase of their lives. New faces freshened the campus with new vitality.
At 7:00 a.m., with the first faint rays of dawn, volunteers began to arrange registering booths to welcome freshmen enrolled in 2022 of the School of Marxism.
At 8:00 a.m., the breeze witnessed a official beginning for welcoming the arrival of freshmen of both undergraduates and postgraduates. Freshmen entered the campus one after another, and the seniors greeted them warmly, guiding freshmen to go through registration procedures.
Afterwards, Party Secretary Liao Jun, Executive Dean Tian Yongxiu, and Deputy Party Secretary Xiong Yu came to the registration site to concern about the registration situation, and had a cordial exchange with counselors and volunteers, telling them to pay attention to heatstroke and cooling, and effectively protect their own health.
At 10:30 a.m., Zhang Xuelong, Deputy Party Secretary of the University CPC Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of the University, Yang Aihua, Deputy Party Secretary of the University CPC Committee, Kang Guozheng, Member of Standing Committee of the University CPC Committee and Vice-principal visited the registration site of our school. They talked with teachers and students of our school, learned about students’ registration and related matters, and expressed solicitude and gratitude to the staff involved in the freshmen registration.
At 14:00 p.m., more and more freshmen arrived at the registration site, the on-site freshmen registration was in full swing. Volunteers warmly welcomed each new student, guided them to get supplies, and actively helped them carry their luggage and find dormitories. Although the weather is hot and dry, volunteers soothed boredom with smiles, answered questions with patience, and infected freshmen with enthusiasm. The freshmen registration of both undergraduates and postgraduates in Xipu Campus and Jiuli Campus was well underway.
In the evening, with the arrival of the last new student on August 25, that day’s registration work came to a close.
On August 26, the sun was shining and the campus was in a delightful scene. The remaining freshmen finished their registration one after another, declaring the 2022 freshmen registration for undergraduate and postgraduates of our school came to a successful end. Due to the impact of COVID-19 across the country, some students enrolled in 2022 were unable to register as scheduled. We are still looking forward to seeing you soon!
The beautiful campus is decorated by lotus flowers and willows, then ginkgo leaves fall in autumn. Although we come from far and wide, we are destined to meet here. Welcome you to the School of Marxism! In the future, the School of Marxism will always be your warmest harbor and the strongest support. We wish all freshmen enrolled in 2022 will acquire achievements as well as enlighten your mind in Southwest Jiaotong University, following the school motto of ‘Rejuvenating the Motherland when Intellectually Accomplished and Making Unremitting Efforts to Improve Yourselves’.
